Herman "Sonny" Joseph Schnelker's Obituary
Herman "Sonny" Joseph Schnelker, 81, of Cromwell, passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late Herman and Nona Agnes (Burkhart) Schnelker. He was a member of St. Louis Besancon Catholic Church, New Haven. He was the owner operator of HJS Sound Equipment, New Haven for 40 years. He enjoyed fishing, steam engines, and NFL football. He also enjoyed model trains, including making track joiners for "G-gauge" model trains.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Bonita "Bonnie"; children, Herman "Matt", Steven (Michele), and Annette Schnelker; brothers, Irwin (Connie), Allen (Carol) and Vernon (Chris) Schnelker; grandchildren, Justin (Alathea "Ali") Dunaway, Matthew (Julia Jacob), Ashleigh, and Avalon Schnelker; and great grandson, Braxton Dunaway.
Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Monday, May 1, 2023, at St. Louis Besancon Catholic Church, 15535 Lincoln Hwy E, New Haven with visitation one hour prior. Visitation is also 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, April 30, 2023, at Harper's Community Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven. Burial in the church cemetery.
