Herbert C. Wray's Obituary
Herbert C. Wray, 97, passed away on May 24, 2015. Born in Peru, IN he was the son of the late Homer and Ola (Whitzel) Wray. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne. He was a partner and owner of Luginbill Wire and Die, where he also was a diamond die maker consultant, retiring in 1981. Herbert loved golfing and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his children, Pamela (Larry) Springer of Fort Wayne and Dennis (Susan) Wray of Redmond, OR; grandchildren, Heidi Ann (Steve) Wilhoff of New Haven, Jay (Susan) Springer of Centerville, TN, Jeremy Wray and Joshua Wray both of Redmond, OR; great grandchildren, Jeffery (Jessica) Mobley, Jared Springer, Gregory (Emily) Mobley, Cameron Springer, Ian Springer, Ainsley Wilhoff, and Nathan Wilhoff; and great great grandchildren, Elija, Piper Bell, and Wesley Mobley. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 74 years, Miriam in October, 2014; and sister, Miriam Benzinger.
Funeral Service is 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 7710 E. State Blvd., Fort Wayne with calling one hour prior. Pastor Steve Ahlersmeyer officiating. Calling is 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne. Preferred memorials are to the church or Parkview Home Health & Hospice.
