Herbert H. Roemer's Obituary
Herbert H. Roemer, 95, passed away Friday, October 21, 2016 at Heritage Park, Fort Wayne. Born in Woodburn, he was the son of the late Conrad and Minnie (Beckman) Roemer. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Woodburn. He was the mayor of Woodburn for 36 years, held all offices in the Woodburn Lions Club, was an East Allen County School board member for six years, and was a member of the Woodburn Chamber of Commerce. He retired as a salesman from Frame Service Inc.
He is survived by his daughters, Linda (Terry) Klinker of Apollo Beach, FL and Karen (Robert) Brenneke of Lexington, SC; grandchildren, Robin (Mark) Strasser of Fort Wayne and Terry Klinker of Columbus, OH; sisters, Erna Smith of New Haven and Nadine Schmidt of Auburn; ten great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 73 years, Berdena Roemer in 2014; siblings, Laura Ehle, Viola Fieghner, Esther Thiele, Norma Roemer, Norbert Roemer, and Melvin Roemer; grandchildren, Timothy Klinker, Andrew Klinker, Michael McConnell, and Dawn Feaster.
Funeral service is 11 a.m. Tuesday at Christ Lutheran Church, 4412 Park St., Woodburn with calling two hours prior. Rev. Timothy Edwards officiating. Burial in the church cemetery. Preferred memorials are to Christ Lutheran Church or Woodburn Lutheran School.
