Gretchen M. Nahrwold's Obituary
Gretchen M. Nahrwold, 68, of Fort Wayne, died February 11, 2013 at Vibra Hospital of Fort Wayne. Born in Palmer, Alaska she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Myrtle Downing. She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne. The Vietnam veteran served her country in the US Army and was a member of American Legion Post 296. She was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Ted Nahrwold; daughters, Deborah (Carlyle) Moore of Monroeville and Tamara (Reuben) Alexander of Washington, D.C.; siblings, Mike Downing of Illinois and Karen Moore of Coeur d'Alene, ID; and five grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Tim Downing.
Funeral service is 2 p.m., Friday, February 15, 2013 at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with calling two hours prior. Rev. Arthur Klausmeier officiating. Burial is in Concordia Cemetery Gardens, Fort Wayne. Preferred memorials are to Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne or Arthritis Foundation.
