Dear Mrs. Roth and Family:

I have known Greg through volleyball from the early 1990's through the present time. He was an official in High School and Club for my daughter and then later as a fellow VB Official with me the past 20-22 years. Many times I traveled with him to Indy or worked matches with him in Fort Wayne.

He was a great friend and I am so sorry that I was out of state for the funeral services or would have attended.

I don't have to relay to you what a great guy he was, distinguished in everything he got involved with. We on the VB Officials circuit will certainly miss him. I will keep your intentions as you cope with this loss in my prayers throughout the coming year. I join you in the sorrow that he was not with us longer.

Most sincere condolences to Greg's family and all of his friends at this difficult time. I had the pleasure of working with Greg at many volleyball matches over the years, and there wasn't a more sincere, gracious fellow on or off the court. He will be missed by all of us in the volleyball community.

Greg was always a joy to talk to. He was a regular customer at Pizza Hut and in recent years, it was always nice to talk to him at the Rousseau Building when I had meeting or work there. I remember him always giving my dad a rough time about his rusty, old truck he used to drive. He was a kind man and will be missed by all.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Greg's passing. He did many of my matches as a men's player at The University of Findlay, and also some of my wife's. Often times his partner was Dan Brandt. When I came to Bluffton University to coach, it was always a joy to catch up with Greg. He always had a wonderful smile and I can see him chewing gum and asking, "and how is Mrs. Yarnell and the family." Greg will surely be missed!

Dear Linda, Tim, and Debbie,
I was so sorry to hear of Greg's passing. I remember your family so well from St. Peter's days. I often visited and enjoyed all the Roths so much. I was recently in Fort Wayne, and as I drove down Pontiac Street, I peeked through to see that house on Leith Street where I have so many fond memories. It sounds like he lived a wonderful life and will be greatly missed. What a role model for his children and grandchildren! Greg and all the "Roths" will be in my prayers.

I ALWAYS smiled when I saw that Greg was my team's Official for volleyball! He was so kind and fair...but most important, he always wanted the girls to learn..and sometimes the coaches too :-) I am greatly saddened for everyone who doesn't get to see his 'ready smile' any longer...but he is surely smiling with Jesus for eternity.
