Gregory Lee Bienz's Obituary
Gregory Lee Bienz, 60, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, he was the son of Leland and Phyllis (Byrd) Bienz, who survive. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, ELCA, Fort Wayne. Greg was confirmed on May 25, 1984, at Martini Lutheran Church, New Haven. He graduated from Bishop Dwenger High School in 1984. He retired with an outstanding work ethic from Richards Restaurant, New Haven after 36 years of service in 2024. He was a dedicated volunteer and delivery aid for Homebound Meals, Fort Wayne. He enjoyed gardening, bowling, going to tractor pulls, and cheering on the Dallas Mavericks. He had many adventures with his friends on his scooter. Greg was a model Christian and patriotic citizen- a “give the shirt off his back” type of guy. Words that reflect Greg’s life would be kindness, honesty, resilience, and a deep faith in God and his family. Anyone Greg encountered was always blessed with the words “May the peace of the Lord be with you.” He is also survived by his sisters, Cindy (Daniel) Joley, Barb (Greg) Craft, and Jennifer (Jeff) Kennedy; nieces and nephews, Zachary Joley, Chelsea Joley, Connor Joley, Cameron Joley, Courtney (Wes) Beard, Kristin (Doug) Sheckler, Matt (Kailee) Craft, Lauren Craft, Brayden Kennedy, and Emmy Kennedy; 3 great nieces and 7 great nephews. Funeral service is 11 am Monday, August 4, 2025, at Messiah Lutheran Church, ELCA, 7211 Stellhorn Rd., Fort Wayne, with visitation one hour prior. Visitation is also 1 to 5 pm Sunday, August 3, 2025, at Harper's Community Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven, Indiana. Pastor David Williamson officiating.
