Grant Neil Messmann, 62, passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2015 at Hospice Home, Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, he was a member of Emmanuel (Soest) Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne. He was an engineer with the Dana Corp Off Highway Axle Division for 29 years.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Linda (Hockemeyer) Messmann; children, Kathryn (Brian) Caruso of Seattle, WA, Mark (Tricia) Messmann of Larwill, and Michael (Jordan) Messmann of Fort Wayne; father, Robert G. Messmann of Fort Wayne; siblings, Greg (Marianne) Messmann and Gary (Beverly) Messmann both of Fort Wayne, and Gina (Kim) Graft of Ossian; and grandchildren, Colette, Lee, and Nikolas. He was preceded in death by mother, Alice Messmann.
Funeral service is 11 a.m. Friday at Emmanuel (Soest) Lutheran Church, 9909 Wayne Trace, Fort Wayne with calling one hour prior. Pastor Kyle Krueger officiating. Calling is also 1 to 4 and 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven. Burial in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, preferred memorials are to the Concordia Theological Seminary Student Scholarship or Emmanuel (Soest) Lutheran Church.
