Gloria J. Nietert's Obituary
Gloria Jean Nietert, 89, of New Haven, passed away on Monday, February 23, 2026, at home. Born in Allen County, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Clarissa (Gass) Springer. She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne and the alter guild. She retired from Indiana Bank after 23 years and went on to drive school bus for Fort Wayne Lutheran School. She loved working in the yard, being a farmer's wife, and spoiling her grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter, Angie (Adam Wies) Weiss; stepdaughter, Rebecca (Jim) Boes; siblings, Nancy (Mike) Ely, John (Carolyn) Springer, David (Erna) Springer, and Jerry (Viv) Springer; grandchildren, Cole (Bryanna Mandujano) Weiss, Brett (Hannah) Weiss, Emma Weiss, Josh Boes, and Brian Nietert; great grandson, Greyson Weiss and one great granddaughter on the way; and great grand-pups, Izzy, Daisy, and Maple. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Ronald Nietert in 2020; stepdaughter, Barbara Nietert; and brother, Dean Springer.
Funeral service is 11 am Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 7710 E. State Blvd, Fort Wayne with visitation one hour prior. Visitation is also 4 to 8 pm Monday, March 2, 2026, at Harper's Community Funeral Home, 740 State Road 930 E., New Haven. Burial in the church cemetery. Preferred memorials to the Church.
