Gloria Ruth Meyer's Obituary
Gloria R. (Heemsoth) Meyer, of New Haven, passed away on Sunday, October 14, 2018. She was born in Fort Wayne to the late Elmer and Naomi (Werling) Heemsoth. She was an office manager at Moon Printing and The Allen County Times. She later retired from East Allen County Schools after 13 years. Gloria was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, New Haven where she was a member of the Emanuel Ladies A.I.D. She was a member of the New Haven Women’s Club and the American Legion Post 330 Auxiliary for over 60 years. Gloria loved being with her family and spoiling her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Mitchel (Ginger Donnelly) Meyer of Collegeville, PA, Debra (John) Wilson of Freemont, and Barbara (Erick) Phillips of St. Joe; Sisters, Cheyrl (Terry) Arney of Angola and Jill Lawson of Euless, TX; 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, John Meyer Jr., siblings, Collette Albersmeyer and Barry Heemsoth.
Funeral service is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 800 Green St, New Haven with visitation one hour prior. Pastor Paul Shoemaker officiating. Visitation is also 2 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Harper’s Community Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven. Burial in Concordia Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Preferred memorials are to the church.
