Geraldine D. Strasser's Obituary
Geraldine D. "Gerry" Strasser, 94, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2024, at home. Born in New Haven, she was the daughter of the late Otto and Clara (Knipstein) Melcher. She was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, New Haven and a past member of Emmaus Lutheran Church, where she served on the alter guild and ladies aid. She retired in 1992 from Erie Haven Concrete after 30 years. Gerry enjoyed gardening, baking, and doing yard work.
She is survived her several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Edward in 1997; one sister; and four brothers.
Funeral service is 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 11, 2024, at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 800 Green St., New Haven with visitation one hour prior. Visitation is also 4 to 6 pm Thursday, October 10, 2024, at Harper's Community Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven. Burial in Lindenwood Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
