George Plettner's Obituary
George Plettner, 78, died Saturday, January 14, 2012 at Parkview Hospital. Born in Schauen, Germany he was the son of the late Albrecht and Hildegard(nee. Solig) Plettner. He served in the U.S. Army. He retired in 1982 as a foreman for Navistar, Inc. after 24 years of service.
George is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Elfriede ( nee. Haack) Plettner of Ft. Wayne; sons: Frank Plettner of Indianapolis, Marvin Plettner of Alameda, CA and a sister: Anneliese Fricke of Germany. He was preceded in death by a brother.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2012 at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven, with family receiving friends ½ hr. prior. The Rev. Paul Shoemaker officiating. Calling is also 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at the funeral home. Burial is in Highland Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Preferred memorials are to Parkview Home Health and Hospice or Cancer Services of N.E. Indiana .
