George F. Bremer's Obituary
George F. Bremer, 95, of New Haven, passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at Cedarhurst Senior Living, Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late Frank and Clara (Trier) Bremer. He served his country in the US Air Force and was a member of American Legion Post 330. He was the member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne where he was an usher and member of the choir. A loving Christian family man, he put God first and then his family. He retired in 1990 from BF Goodrich after 25 years. He enjoyed volunteering for various causes and was a member of United Steelworkers Local 715. He loved family vacations camping in Michigan, the many bus trips he took with Kate all over the US, the outdoors, and working in the yard and mowing lawn up until this past fall.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 72 years, Kathryn; children, James (Dawn), John (Diane), Thomas (Janet), Timothy (Melanie), and David (Shannon) Bremer; daughters, Mary (Steve) Bottoms and Rebecca (Jim) Bennett; sisters, Estella Peters, and Helen Etzler; 18 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren with one on the way. He was also preceded in death by granddaughter, Lindsey Bremer; and siblings, Franklin Bremer, Hazel Etzler, and Phyllis Sumney.
Funeral service is 11 a.m. Saturday, February 18, 2023, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 7710 E State Blvd, Fort Wayne with visitation one hour prior. Visitation is also 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, February 17, 2023, at Harper's Community Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven. Burial in the church cemetery with military honors.
