Gaylord C. Heine's Obituary
Gaylord C. Heine, 90, went to his heavenly home on Saturday Dec. 17, 2016. He was the son of the late Carl and Alvina Heine and was married to Gertrude (Krueckeberg) for 60 years until her death. He was then blessed to marry Myla (Hyman). Gaylord was a lifelong member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in New Haven where he selflessly served in many capacities. In addition he helped found the Christian radio station STAR 88.3 and served in many community groups.
Gaylord worked at American Hoist and Derrick for 28 years as a welding engineer but his passion was the family farm. He led by example and inspired his family and those that he met with his hard work. He enjoyed life through traveling, personal friendships and helping others. He is survived by his wife, Myla, sister Phyllis Schamerloh, Decatur, IN, children Colleen (Greg) Peters of New Haven, Charles (Kathy) Heine of Brighton, MI, Stanley (Joette) Heine of Fremont, IN, Dave (Tammy) Heine of New Haven, Gwyn (Patrick) Mannion of Fayetteville, NY and step children Mellany (Dennis) Secrist, Lori (Robert) Nelson both of New Haven, 18 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren and 4 step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Gertrude, sisters Marcella Paschka, Eunice Bienz, and grandson Bryan Peters. Funeral service is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 800 Green St., New Haven with calling 1 hour prior to service. Pastor Paul Shoemaker officiating. Calling is also 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 S.R. 930 E., New Haven. Burial in Emanuel Lutheran Cemetery, New Haven. Preferred memorials are to the church or Worship for Shut-ins.
