Gail Ann Wonderly, 67, of Fort Wayne left this life on Thursday, May 14, 2015 surrounded by her loving family in Fort Wayne. She was born March 10, 1948 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Joan (Miller) Same and William Schwonke. She married her high school sweetheart and father of her children on April 12, 1969.
She is survived by her devoted husband, John; children, Jay, Jym (Sarah), and Josh Wonderly, Joci (Andy) Plank all of Fort Wayne and Jak Wonderly of Santa Rosa, CA; grandchildren, Jones and Noa Wonderly, Jules Patalita, Austin Northrup, and Pearl "Lulu" Blauvelt; mother, Joan Same of Fort Wayne; brothers, William (Mary Kay) Same of New Haven and Thomas Same of Fort Wayne; sister, Marty (Tom) Bastress of Fort Wayne; and stepmother, Gee Schwonke of Roanoke, VA.
Gail was always an angel in our midst. She ignored material desires, accepted the things she could not change, held her family close, never complained, and just kept smiling. This humble woman had truly mastered what is important in life. Gail's spirit will live on in the people that she touched with her awe-inspiring kindness. She will become a part of the things she loved: the sun on our faces, each thoughtful gesture, and the laughter of children.
Memorial service is 11 a.m. Saturday, May 23, 2015 at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with calling one hour prior.
