Frederick "Rick" William Donahoo's Obituary
Frederick "Rick" William Donahoo, 65, of Angola, formerly of Fort Wayne, died November 19, 2014 at home with his family by his side. Born in Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late Joe and Dorothy Donahoo. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne. The US Marine veteran served his country in Vietnam and was a volunteer at the V.A. Hospital. He was employed with Zollner Pistons, Fort Wayne for ten years and had also been employed with International Harvester in Oklahoma. Most recently he was a bus driver for Betz Nursing Home in Auburn. Rick loved fishing, boating, golfing, and spending time with his grandsons. The IU and Colts fan could always be found in the cheering section at his grandsons sporting events.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Sheila; children, Shannon (Bradley) Krocker and Nicholas (Katie Lafferty) Donahoo both of Fort Wayne; brother, Thomas (Ann) Donahoo of Michigan; and grandsons, Dakota, Maddox, and Jack Krocker, and Colin Donahoo.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 7710 E. State Blvd., Fort Wayne with calling one hour prior. Pastor Steve Ahlersmeyer officiating. Calling is also 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven. Burial in the church cemetery with military honors. Preferred memorials are to St. Peter's Lutheran School or Cameron Healthcare Hospice.
