Flossie M. Banning's Obituary
Flossie Marie Banning, 97, passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at The Sanctuary at St. Paul's retirement home in South Bend. Born in Noble County on September 11, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Alva and Lena (Shear) Banning. She was also preceded in death by her brother Carl and three sisters, Marjorie, Opal and Alberta. She is survived by her brother-in-law Scott Kamphues, 3 nieces and a nephew. Flossie was a past member of St. Jude Catholic Church, Fort Wayne and retired in 1985 after teaching elementary school for 30 years. In 2002 she moved to South Bend where she spent the remainder of her years. Flossie was a lifelong, faithful Catholic and in South Bend was a member of St. Matthews Cathedral parish and was involved with the secular Franciscans. She was a most special lady, a thoughtful and caring person who inspired and befriended many people by her quiet, serene disposition and peaceful demeanor.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM, Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at St. Jude Catholic Church, 2130 Pemberton Dr, Fort Wayne, IN. A one hour visitation will be held prior to the mass. Entombment will take place at the Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Arrangements are by Harper's Community Funeral Home, 740 Indiana Hwy 930 E, New Haven.
