Florene Dellinger's Obituary
Florene Dellinger, 91, died Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at Golden Years Homestead, Fort Wayne. Born in Van Wert County, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Grace McMichael. She was a member of New Haven United Methodist Church. She worked at General Electric Company while her husband Richard served in World War II. She retired from Sears on Rudisill Blvd., where she was affectionately known as the "Candy Lady", and also enjoyed selling Avon products for many years.
She is survived by her children, Craig (Jane) Dellinger of New Haven and Jeanine (Lee) Skinner of Fort Wayne; daughter-in-law, Joyce Dellinger of Dearborn Heights, MI; brother, Carl (Gloria) Giessler of Tucson, AZ; grandchildren, Daniel Dellinger, Amy Brown, Jason Skinner, Jeff Dellinger, and Melanie Roddel; and 11 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by husband, Richard; son, Keith Richard Dellinger; and sister, Lillian Reynolds.
Funeral service is 11 a.m., Saturday, March 2, 2013 at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with calling one hour prior. Pastor Chuck Fenwick officiating. Calling is also 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 1, 2013 at the funeral home. Burial is in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, New Haven. Preferred memorials are to New Haven United Methodist Church or H.O.P.E. for Animals, Fort Wayne.
