Evelyn Marian Heckman's Obituary
Evelyn Marian Heckman, 97, went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 13, 2015. Born in Kalamazoo, MI, she was the daughter of the late George and Elizabeth (Poth) Doan. She lived the majority of her life in New Haven and lived with her daughter for the last 13 years. She spent her whole life loving and caring for her family. She especially enjoyed family time at her Summer Home on Lake James.
She is survived by her daughter, Deborah (Joseph) Wiley of Fort Wayne; sister, Doris (Elvin) Stewart of Granger; grandchildren, Tonya (Rodney) Smithson and Christopher Wiley; great grandchildren, Isabella and Regan Smithson. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Kenneth Heckman in 2002; siblings, Margaret Wise, Mildred Clark, Alberta Davis, and Robert Doan.
Funeral service is 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, at E. Harper and Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with calling one hour prior. Calling is also 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Pastor Daniel Fugate officiating. Burial in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, New Haven. Preferred memorials are to the Great Grandchildren's College Fund.
