Evelyn P. Bandy's Obituary
Evelyn P. Bandy, 84, of Ft. Wayne and formerly of Woodburn, went to be with the Lord Friday, February 5, 2011 at Woodview Health Care, Fort Wayne with family at her side. Born in Edinburg, IL. she was the daughter of the late William and Verna Boaden. She was an active member of Forest Park United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star- Ft. Wayne Chapter. She served as a Registered Nurse at the Lutheran Hospital for four years and then held a teaching position at the Irene Byron Health Center, retiring in 1956. She was a faithful friend and volunteered her time and talents in the community and church. She had an unselfish willingness to help others and she especially treasured her role as a devoted wife to her loving husband.
She is survived by her son, Eric (Judy) Bandy of Eden Prairie, MN; son-in-law, William Green of Sunbury, OH; sister; Ogreata Thomas of Edinburg, IL and her four precious grandchildren: Isaac, Ryan, Elizabeth and Jonathan. She was also preceded in death by her adoring husband of 62 years, Charles Bandy on January 10, 2011; daughter, Shelley C. Green in 2005; and sister, Eloise Sample.
Funeral service is 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at Forest Park United Methodist Church, 2100 Kentucky Ave., Fort Wayne, 46805 with calling ½ hour prior to service. Pastor Brenda Ginder officiating. Calling is also 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven. Burial is in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne. Preferred memorials are to Forest Park United Methodist Church or Woodburn Christian Children’s Home.
