Eugene C. "Gene" Fox's Obituary
Eugene C. “Gene” Fox, 78, passed away Sunday, May 8, 2016, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late Andrew and Bernice (Kleber) Fox. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, New Haven, the Holy Name Society, and St. Vincent de Paul Society. He served his country in the Marine Corp. Reserves and was a member of the Marine Corp League, Fort Miami Detachment, and American Legion Post 330. He retired in 1994 from UPS with over 30 years. He loved woodworking and working in the garden.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Norma; children, Edward Fox of Fort Wayne, Joe (Karen) Fox of New Haven, and Rose (Ben) Passino of Maumee, OH; siblings, Helen (Tom) Jacquay of Monroeville, Mary Ann (Max) Daniels of Florida, and Victor (Carol) Fox of Fort Wayne; eight grandchildren; and one great grandchild. He was also preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Kathy Fox in 2014.
Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Friday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 943 Powers St., New Haven with calling one hour prior. Father Bill Sullivan officiating. Calling is also 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with a vigil at 3:45 p.m. Burial in the church cemetery with military honors. Preferred memorials are to Masses or St. Vincent de Paul Society of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
