Eugene Leslie Bremer's Obituary
Eugene Leslie Bremer, 89, passed away on November 21, 2018. Born in New Haven, he was the son of the late William Christian and Lalah Florence (Stabler) Bremer. After graduating from New Haven High School, he served two years in the U.S. Army before returning home to New Haven to begin raising a family with wife Thelma (Parker). He spent the rest of his professional career in the lumber business, first as a manager of retail lumber businesses in New Haven, and then as general manager of the wholesale lumber division of Hardware Wholesalers Inc., now known as Do-It Best. Eugene enjoyed wood working, furniture making, flying, and golf. He was a life-long member of Emanuel Lutheran Church and served the church in many capacities. He is survived by his son, Richard (Suzanne) Bremer; daughter, Michelle (Richard) Newsome; sister, Mary Ann (Donald) Bulmahn; son-in-law, Steven Bultemeier; grandchildren, Greg (Jamie) Bultemeier, Allison (Justin) Gudel, Laura (Ronnie) Burklew, Amy Sutton (Emily Hickey), Jonathan Sutton (Samantha Hugus), great grandchildren Austin Miller, Ashlynn, Marissa, Colin, Jordan, Morgan, Hayden, Chase Bultemeier, Nicholas Parks, and Claire Burklew. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Thelma, his daughter Pamela Bultemeier, and brother and sister-in-law, W. Allen and Margret Bremer. Funeral services are 10:30 a.m., Wednesday at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 800 Green St, New Haven with visitation one hour prior to service. Rev. Paul Shoemaker officiating. Visitation is also 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Harper’s Community Funeral Home, 740 State Road 930 East, New Haven. Burial in the church cemetery.
