Ethel L. Hicks' Obituary
Ethel L. Hicks, 86, passed away on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at Majestic Care of New Haven. Born in West Portsmouth, Ohio she was the daughter of the late Leslie and Ethel (Hill) Denning. She was an active member of New Haven United Methodist Church. She retired from Magnavox where she was also a member of the Quarter Century Club. She was a member of American Legion Post 296 Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and fishing. She is survived by her children, Rick (Kim) Yenser of Columbia City, Walt (Deb) Yenser and Diane (Joe) Caston both of New Haven; siblings, Elnora Montgomery of Hilliard, OH and Ralph Denning of Payne, OH; stepson, Steve Hicks and Dan Hicks both of Fort Wayne, Gary Hicks of Columbia City; five grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her husband 33 years, Ray in 2011; daughter, Corinne Louise Yenser; and 12 siblings. Funeral service is 11:30 a.m. Monday at Harper’s Community Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with visitation two hours prior. Masks and social distancing required.
