Estella Clara Peters' Obituary
Estella Clara Peters, 97, of New Haven, passed away Friday, November 17, 2023, at Park Place Senior Living, Fort Wayne. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Clara (Trier) Bremer. She was an inspector during WWII at General Electric, worked in the cafeteria with East Allen County Schools, and retired from Hutner’s Department Store. She was an active member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, New Haven where she was involved with Choir, The Ladies Society, and was a soloist for many weddings. Estella enjoyed gardening, reading, playing cards, bingo, square dancing, and baking. Many knew her for her famous chocolate chip cookies. She especially loved spending time with her family and took great pride in her grandchildren. She is survived by her daughters, Beverly (Ric) Collier, Karen (Larry) Schamerloh, and Diann (Jim) Cawvey; sister, Helen Etzler; grandchildren, David (Logan) Schamerloh and Sydney Cawvey; 2 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Harold Peters in 2013; siblings, Franklin Bremer, Phyllis Sumney, Hazel Etzler, and George Bremer in February 2023.
Funeral Service is 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 24, 2023, at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 800 Green St., New Haven with visitations one and half hours prior (9am -10:30 am). Burial in the church cemetery.
