Erna Meyer's Obituary
Erna Meyer, 97, of New Haven, died Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at Golden Years Homestead, Fort Wayne. Born in Defiance, Ohio she was the daughter of the late Fred and Ida Arps. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church – Gar Creek, New Haven, its Ladies Aid, and its Quilter’s Group. She was a long time volunteer at the Lutheran Home, Fort Wayne and an avid blood donor well into her later years.
She is survived by her children, Fritz (Linda) Meyer, Ted (Malinda) Meyer, Dan (Mary) Meyer all of New Haven and Martha (Eric) White of Dandridge, Tenn; and seven grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Hilbert Meyer in 1994; and siblings, Herman, Albert, Hilbert, Ray, and Hilda Arps, Martha Gerken, and Emma Werling.
Funeral service is 1:30 p.m. Monday at St. Paul Lutheran Church – Gar Creek, 1910 N. Berthaud Rd., New Haven with calling one hour prior. The Rev. Ron Francis officiating. Calling is also 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven. Burial is in the church cemetery.
