Elmer "Bud" F. Remenschneider's Obituary
Elmer "Bud" F. Remenschneider, 85, died Thursday, January 10, 2013 at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne. Born in New Haven, he was the son of the late William and Ida Remenschneider. He was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, New Haven where he held many offices. The US Navy veteran served his county in WWII and was a charter member of American Legion Post 330. He was the past president of New Haven Chamber of Commerce, a master gardener, and 17 year member of the New Haven Volunteer Fire Department. He was also a member of New Haven Kiwanis, New Haven Lions Club, and former officer of the Echo-German Mutual Insurance Company. He was co-owner of Deluxe Drycleaners for 24 years and a partner at Bremer's Home and Garden Store for 18 years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Maxine; sons, Thomas (Leslie) of Fort Wayne, Rev. Dennis (Connie) of Holland, MI, Kenneth (Sharon) of Indianapolis, and Gary (Kay) and Jon both of New Haven; sister, Esther Selking of Decatur; ten grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by sisters, Alma Hemsoth and Helen Federspiel.
Funeral service is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 800 Green St., New Haven with calling one hour prior to service. Rev. Paul Shoemaker officiating. Calling is also 3 to 7 p.m. Monday, January 14, 2013 at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven. Burial with military honors is in Concordia Cemetery Gardens, Fort Wayne. Preferred memorials are to Emanuel Lutheran Church or Worship for Shut-ins.
