Eileen "Boo Boo" "Babe" Morton's Obituary
Eileen "Boo Boo" "Babe" Morton, passed away on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. Born in Monroeville on December 30, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Marie (Minnick) Brames. She was baptized at St. Rose Catholic Church in Monroeville, and was a graduate of Hoagland High School. She was a faithful member of St. Louis Besancon Catholic Church, New Haven. Boo Boo worked as a buyer and expediter at International Harvester for over 32 years. She also enjoyed farming and living in the country where she grew up. Boo Boo enjoyed an active life which included, antiquing, refinishing furniture, collecting cupboards, cooking, sewing, and quilting. Boo Boo was proud of her cooking skills and loved having family and friends over to enjoy her delicious dishes, especially her raspberry pie. Her legacy will live on in the many beautiful quilts she made throughout her lifetime. She will be missed by all who loved and knew her.
She is survived by her loving sister, Annabelle "Jean" Bacon; and her many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her brothers; Kenneth, Byron, and Parnell Brames; and sister, Rosemary Shanebeck.
Prayer service is 9:15 a.m. Friday, June 7, 20113 at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Louis Besancon Catholic Church, 15535 Lincoln Hwy. E., New Haven with calling one hour prior to prayers. Father Steve Colchin officiating. Calling is also 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 6, 2013 at the funeral home with a rosary service at 7:30 p.m. Burial is in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, preferred memorials are to Masses, St. Louis Besancon Catholic Church Restoration Fund, or Donor's Choice.
