Edward Remenschneider's Obituary
Edward O. Remenschneider, 92, of Fort Wayne, died Thursday, January 20, 2011 at Woodview Healthcare, Fort Wayne. Born in New Haven, he was the son of the late Fred and Elizabeth (nee.Goeglein) Remenschneider. He was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne and was active on the Building and Maintenance Board. He served his country in the US Navy and was also a member of American Legion Post #377, Woodburn. He retired from Irving Ready-Mix after 47 years. He also served on the Concordia Cemetery Gardens Board, the St. Joe Twp. Volunteer Fire Department, and was an active member of the Maumee Valley Antique Tractor Association.
He is survived by his children, Carol (Mike) Miller of New Haven, David (Mary) Remenschneider of Leo, and Don (Michele) Remenschneider of Fort Wayne; six grandchildren; two step grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and one step great grandson. He was also preceded in death by his wife Agnes Remenschneider in 2004; son, Roger Remenschneider in 1973; and brothers, Ralph and Louis Remenschneider.
Funeral service is 6 p.m. Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 3425 Crescent Ave.,
Fort Wayne with calling one hour prior. Pastor Mark Neubacher officiating. Calling is also 3 to 8 p.m. Monday, January 24, 2011 at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven. Graveside service is 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Concordia Cemetery Gardens, Fort Wayne. Preferred memorials are to Holy Cross Lutheran Church or Concordia High School.
