Edward E. Dager's Obituary
Edward E. Dager, 96, of New Haven, died Friday, February 23, 2018 at Adams Heritage, Monroeville. Born in Allen County, he was the son of the late Peter and Minnie (Lesh) Dager. He served his country as an airplane mechanic in the US Army during WWII, was a Purple Heart recipient, and was recognized for his service by the Honor Flight Network in 2015. He retired in 1985 from ITT with over 35 years of service. Ed enjoyed fishing, gardening, and flowers.
He is survived by his daughters, Ragene Davies of Hoagland and Beverly (Gil) Johnson of Grabill; grandchildren, Bradley (Michelle) Davies, Kimberly (Kevin) DeWald, Brian (Meredith) and Steven Johnson; great grandchildren, Kameron, Kaden, and Kailey DeWald, Aria, Alyssa, and Madison Johnson; and step great grandchildren, Danielle, Stephanie, Nicholas, Christopher Abouhalkah, MariJoy and Melyssa Seip, and step great great grandson, Andrew Easterday. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Marvis Dager on March 10, 2017; son-in-law, Larry Davies on April 26, 2017; and siblings, Floyd, Byron, Ralph, and Harlan Dager, Cleota Harshman, and Leona Anspach.
Funeral service is 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Harper’s Community Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with calling 1 ½ hours prior to service. Lay Minister Brian Johnson officiating. Burial in IOOF Cemetery, New Haven. Preferred memorials are to the Honor Flight Network.
