Edward Alan Ahlersmeyer Sr.'s Obituary
Edward “Ed” A. Ahlersmeyer Sr., 61, passed away on Friday, November 6, 2015 in Fort Wayne. Ed was born in Fort Wayne to Almyra (Voigt) of Fort Wayne and the late Robert C. Ahlersmeyer. He was a graduate of New Haven High School class of 1972. He worked at B.F. Goodrich of Woodburn for 38 years as a tire builder and retired in 2009. He loved boating, laking, going to the beach and helping anyone in need. During the summer months he would reside at Blue Lake, Churbusco.
He is survived by his wife of 9 years, Millie (Wilson) Ahlersmeyer; children, Edward (Colleen) II of Goshen, Nicholas (Kelley) of Fort Wayne, and Shelby (Cameron) Colwell of Boulder, CO; step-children, Kevin Bradford of Woodburn, and Amanda Bradford of Fort Wayne; Siblings, Bob (Barb) of Fort Wayne, Rene (Tom) Ervin of Palm Beach, FL, Bill (Susan) of Cyprus TX, Hein (Jane) of New Haven; 5grandchildren, and 1 step-grandson..
Funeral service is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with calling one hour prior to service. Pastor Paul Shoemaker officiating. Calling is also 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Preferred memorials are to the Ed Ahlersmeyer Memorial Fund.
