My thoughts and prayers to your family. Dorothy and my mother Margie Burkett Scheimann were long-time New Havenites, piano players, walkers, and were neighbors about 15 years ago. More recently I was her neighbor a few doors down on Green Street. As Dorothy would be walking and would see me outside working in the yard, she always gave me a big smile and a hello! Sue Braun
I have great memories of my 10 years of piano lessons with Mrs. Burford. The satisfaction when she declared that you'd mastered a piece and gave it the rubber stamp. The anxious flutter of being called into a lesson early to perform a memorized piece for the student before you. The reverent hush of the two pianos at the front of the darkened Fellowship Hall on recital day. Mrs. Burford was a great teacher and a terrific lady. She and Mr. Burford helped bring music into so many students lives, and our lives are fuller because of them.

I'm so sorry to hear of Dorothy's passing ! I found out last Friday& I'm sorry I didn't respond sooner . Dorothy was a great lady & I enjoyed our conversations @ church . We usually shared a hug as well . I always enjoyed your parents as from time to time when they would play a duet during a service, Very enjoyable! I will truly miss them as they were an inspiration to me !

I am so sorry for the loss of your mom and both your parents. Believe it or not, I have such wonderful memories of piano lessons (I hated practicing but enjoyed the lessons) followed by trips to the library. Your mom was always encouraging and down-to-business (a wonderful combination). Much love during this very tough time.
I remember your mom and dad, so very well.i took piano, from your dad, as well as my sister, Jackie. My daughter Lindsay, was taught, by your mom. So, my family, all loved your mom and dad. I attended high school, with Kathy, and we both graduated in 1977. I send my deepest condolences to the Burford family. Your parents were special people. She was a sweet, kind, caring, loving, beautiful lady. She loved everyone. Had the chance to attend meetings, work with her, talk to her thru church. She will sure be missed. Your newest angel to serve our lord. Love, hugs to all💞💓💞💓
