Dorothea A. Steiner's Obituary
Dorothea Ann Steiner, 85, of Fort Wayne, formerly of New Haven, passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Cedarhurst of Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, she was the daughter of the late Cecil and Florence (Neireiter) Jamison. She worked at the First State Bank of Hoagland, First Federal Bank, and went on to retire from McDonald's after 23 years. She also helped run Steiner Mowing with her husband of 63 years, Griffin, who preceded her in death in 2023. She loved to bake and was known for her cookies. She rarely missed a sporting event or school function that her grandchildren were participating in. One of the hardest working women you would ever meet, she had several health ailments, including broken bones, pancreatic cancer, skin cancer, and several rounds of radiation, yet never once complained.
She is survived by her children, Kimberly (Corey) Sheehan of Monroeville and Russell Steiner of Fort Wayne; sister, Margaret Crosley; grandchildren, Nicholas (Lauren), Conner (Erika) and Abby Sheehan; and great granddaughter, Evelyn Sheehan.
Funeral service is 11 am Friday, January 10, 2025, at Harper's Community Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E, New Haven with visitation one hour prior.
