Doris M. Saurer's Obituary
Doris M. Saurer, 95 , died Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at her home at Clare Bridge, Venice, FL with her children at her side. Born in Allen County, she was the daughter of the late William and Cora Mae Ambrose. She was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, New Haven. Doris retired from Kroger and AP Grocers after 20 years of service. She was an avid bowler and loved to travel.
Doris is survived by her children, Joyce (Jerald) Metz of Punta Gorda, Charles (Linda) Saurer of Nokomis,FL and Cynthia (James) Melcher of Fort Wayne; twin sister, Dorothy Kite of Fort Wayne; sister-in-law, M. Irene Messman of Fort Wayne; seven grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and four step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter in 2003; two brothers, and two sisters.
Funeral service is 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 800 Green St., New Haven, IN with calling from 1 to 3 p.m. prior to service. Rev. Paul Shoemaker officiating. Burial in Bowers Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Preferred memorials are to Emanuel Lutheran Church, New Haven.
