Doris J. Doty's Obituary
Doris J. Doty, 88, formerly of Woodburn, died Saturday, November 3, 2012 at Miller's Merry Manor, Columbia City. Born in rural Allen County she was the daughter of the late Carl and Minerva (Louden) Baumert. She retired in 1968 after 15 years with General Electric Company and was a loving homemaker for her husband of 70 years, Wayne, he survives. She was a member of the St. James Lutheran Church, Payne Ohio and the GE Elex Club. Doris loved her many years spent in Florida fishing with Wayne.
In addition to her husband Wayne, she is survived by her children, Barbara A. (Max) Cotner and Dale (Lana) Doty both of Columbia City; brother, William( June) Baumert of New Haven, six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Charles and LeRoy Baumert and sister Helen McNeal.
Funeral service is 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at St. James Lutheran Church, 511 W. Townline Rd., Payne, Ohio with calling one hour prior. Calling is also 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven. Burial is in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, New Haven. Preferred memorials are to St. James Lutheran Church, Payne, Ohio.
