Donald "Don" Minick's Obituary
Donald “Don” A. Minick, 92, a lifetime resident of Allen County, passed away Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Parkview Hospital Randallia, Fort Wayne. Born a farmer in Hoagland, he was the son of the late Earl and Marcella (Zuber) Minick. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, New Haven and Holy Name Society. Donald proudly served his country during WWII in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the American Legion Post 330, New Haven. He worked at International Harvester, Fort Wayne for 30 years and retired in 1983. He continued to work at D.E. & L Excavating for 15 years. Don loved his family and always enjoyed a good hand of euchre.
He is survived by his daughters, Donna (Steve) Rondot and Dianne Meadows both of Fort Wayne; siblings, Violet Braun of Decator, Roger Minick and Alvin Minick both of Fort Wayne; seven grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Marcella “Sally” Minick in 2017; son, Dennis Minick in 2005; siblings, Ruth Koch, Jeanette Rondot, Dolores Pranger, Therese Sorg, James Minick and Robert Minick.
Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m., Friday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 943 Powers St., New Haven with calling one hour prior to service. Father Bill Sullivan officiating. Burial in the church cemetery with military honors. Preferred memorials to Covenant House or Parkview Hospice. Arrangements by E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven.
