Donald J. Gentile's Obituary
Donald J. Gentile, 88, died Sunday, April 28, 2013 at Bethlehem Woods Nursing and Rehabilitation, Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late Anthony and Victoria Gentile. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, New Haven, the Holy Name Society, and the Knights of Columbus. The WWII Army veteran retired in 1980 from International Harvester after 36 years of service. He was inducted into the Fort Wayne Bowling Association Hall of Fame, and served as a past president.
He is survived by wife of almost 66 years, Rosemarie Gentile; children, Christopher (Hope) Gentile of Sturgis, MI, Donnarose Robinson of Leo, Vickimarie (Ron) Korte of New Haven, Loraine (Tom) Teed of Watervliet, MI, and Trina (Qes) Hoag of Spencerville; brother, Francis (Dolores) Gentile of Fort Wayne; ten grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 943 Powers St., New Haven with calling one hour prior. Father Mark Gurtner officiating. Calling is 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 6, 2013 at the funeral home with a rosary to be recited at 6 p.m. Entombment is in Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Preferred memorials are to Masses or Bethlehem Woods Nursing and Rehabilitation.
