Donald E. "Duck" Doster's Obituary
Donald E. "Duck" Doster, 80, of New Haven, died Sunday, December 25, 2011 at home. Born in Van Wert, OH, he was the son of the late Lester and Katherine (Densmore) Doster. He retired in 1992 from Norfolk Southern Railroad as a district lineman after 43 years of service. Don also worked for the Fort Wayne Vehicle Auction for 14 years. He was a member of the Woodburn United Methodist Church. He was a Korean War veteran serving in the US Army and a member of the American Legion Post #330.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Phyllis, children: Mearl Doster, of Noblesville, Susan Doster, Franklin (Brenda) Doster, and David (Kim) Doster, all of New Haven, brother: Paul (Pat) Doster, of Broughton, OH, nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother Robert Doster, and daughter-in-law, Mary Jo Doster.
Funeral Service is 10:00 A.M. Thursday December 29, 2011 at Woodburn United Methodist Church, 4300 Becker Rd. Woodburn, IN with calling one hour before services. Pastor Terry MacDonald officiating. Calling is also 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Wednesday at E. Harper and Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd 930 E., New Haven. Burial with Military Honors will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, New Haven. Preferred memorials are to the Woodburn United Methodist Church.
