Donal "Don" Leroy Mowery's Obituary
Donal “Don” Leroy Mowery, 91, passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at Hospice Home, Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late Cloyde and Edna (Johnson) Mowery. He was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne. He served his country in the US Army during World War II. He retired from Dana Corp in 1982 after 36 years. Don loved watching NASCAR and cowboy westerns, playing checkers, and playing bluegrass and country on his guitar.
He is survived by his children, Kenneth Mowery and Danny Mowery both of Fort Wayne, Elaine (Steve) Kline, Vicky (David) Cole, and Linda Bledsoe all of New Haven, and Judi (Febronio) Ramon of Decatur; 23 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; and 20 great great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Marie Mowery in 2001, children, Ronnie and Steven Mowery, Kathy Potter, and Debbie Speith; four grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.
Funeral service is 11 a.m. Friday at Harper’s Community Funeral Home, 740 State Road 930 East, New Haven with visitation one hour prior. Rev. Mark Niemoeller officiating. Visitation is also 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial in IOOF Cemetery, New Haven.
