DeWayne "Dewey" A. Scheiman's Obituary
DeWayne “Dewey” A. Scheiman, 74, passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at Kingston Care Center, Fort Wayne. Born in New Haven, he was the son of the late Arthur and Gertrude (Schaefer) Scheiman. He was a previous member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne. The lifelong farmer also worked at B.F. Goodrich and Goings Television Store. He had many loves which included going to Lake Pleasant, Manapogo Park in Orland, hunting, fishing, and playing Euchre. Many will miss Dewey sitting on his gator giving a friendly wave as they passed the family farm.
He is survived by his daughters, Julie (Scott) Washburn of Fort Wayne and Amy (Daniel) Biedess of New Haven; sisters, Carol (Dick Lauer) Hughes and Lois (Dave) Rhodes both of New Haven; loving companion of 33 years, Marilyn Franz and her daughter, Vicki (Greg) Lopez both of Continental, OH.; and grandchildren, Andy and Megan Barchak, Hannah and Ethan Biedess.
Funeral service is 11 a.m. Monday at Harper’s Community Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with visitations one hour prior to service. Pastor Chuck Fenwick officiating. Calling is also 12 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial in St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Preferred memorials are to the American Heart Association.
