Devon Frane's Obituary
Devon E. Frane, 85, of Monroeville, died January 3, 2011 at Village Oaks at Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late Clarence and Iola Frane.
His passion was farming, which he did for over 45 years. He retired in 1977 after 32 years with International Harvester Company. Also in the 1950’s he found time to serve as a part-time police officer for the town of New Haven. He enjoyed his basketball and baseball.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Janus; daughter: Dianna (Michael) Voors of Woodburn; grandsons: David (Tina) Voors of Monroeville and Mark (Jennifer) Voors of W. Lafayette, IN; great grandchildren: Sarah, Samantha, Emma, Luke and Ava; sisters: Delight (Junior) Springer of Ossian and Dorothy (Norm) Miller of New Haven.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Mary Alice and Clarence Yoquelet and half-brother, Donald Fisher.
Funeral service is 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 7, 2011 at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, with calling 2 hours prior to the service. Fr. Steve Colchin officiating. Burial in IOOF Cemetery. Preferred memorials are to the Alzheimer’s Association.
