Dennis S. DeCoursey's Obituary
Dennis S. DeCoursey, 70, of Fort Wayne, passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne after a brief illness. Born in Detroit, Mich. he was the son of the late Richard and Helen DeCoursey. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, New Haven and the Holy Name Society. He was a Vietnam War veteran and retired from the US Army in 1982. Dennis was a security officer for General Electric, ITT, DuPont Hospital, and most recently IVY Tech Community College. He was a member of American Legion Post 330, the DAV, and Indiana Sheriff's Association. He loved NASCAR was an avid Komet Hockey fan.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Regina; children, Kathleen (Mark) Milkowski of Warren, Mich., Kimberly Lentz of Howell, Mich., and Kevin (Kelly) DeCoursey of Fort Wayne; eight grandchildren; and one great granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his son, Richard DeCoursey in 1970; great grandson, Parker Huber; and sister, Jacquelyn Asmus.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 4, 2011 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 943 Powers St., New Haven with calling one hour prior to service. The Father James Seculoff officiating. Calling is also 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with rosary at 3 p.m. Burial is in the church cemetery with military honors. Preferred memorials are to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Masses or Allen County Sheriff's Regional Training Center.
