David Charles Gurney's Obituary
David Charles Gurney, 70, passed away on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Woodview Assisted Living, Fort Wayne. Born in Minerva, Ohio, he was the son of the late Fred and Mildred (Ward) Gurney. He was a member of North Christian Church, Fort Wayne. David had an extensive career in restaurant management and later worked for Fort James Corp. Carton Plant, Kendallville, where he retired in 1995. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, horseback riding, and going to aquariums. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Susan (Griffith) Gurney; sons, Stephen (Anna) Gurney of Payne, OH and Scott (Megan) Gurney of New Haven; sister, Carol Brumlow of Bowling Green, KY; and four grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his son, Jason Allen Gurney. Funeral service is 7 p.m. Saturday at Harper’s Community Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with calling two hours prior. Rev. Kate Penny-Howard officiating. Preferred memorials are to Parkinson Disease Research.
