Daniel F. Minick's Obituary
Daniel Minick, 92, passed away on Friday, August 13, 2021, with his family by his side. He was the son of the late Elmer and Catherine (Salmon) Minick. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, New Haven. He worked at Allen County Co-Op and International Harvester, where he worked for over 30 years and retired in 1985. Dan enjoyed traveling and spending time at his Florida residence. He also had a passion for his Farmall tractor. The family wishes to thank Heartland Hospice, especially Matt for his kindness and care. He is survived by his children, Jerry (Peggy) Minick, John Minick, and Diane Minick all of Fort Wayne, Kay Kauffman and Susan (Ken) Gerig both of New Haven, and Judy (John) Patton of Hudson; brother, David Minick of Huntington; 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Evelyn (Bowers) Minick in 2014; son, Roger Minick; grandson, Lee Minick; brothers, Robert, Jim, and his twin Don Minick; son in law, Moses Kauffman in December 2020. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Friday, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 943 Power Street, New Haven with visitations half hour prior. Visitation is also 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Harper’s Community Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with a pray vigil at 6 p.m. Burial at Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Preferred memorials are masses and Heartland Hospice.
