Daniel L Gage's Obituary
Daniel L. Gage, 81, of Fort Wayne, flew his final flight from Cedarhurst Memory Care, Fort Wayne, to his heavenly home on November 27, 2024, at 8:08 p.m. with his family by his side. He was born on April 25, 1943. He graduated from North Side High School in 1961. He enlisted in the Air Force right out of high school. He retired from the Air National Guard in 1995 with 22 years of service. Dan owned numerous TV and radio shops in California. He owned and operated along with his wife, Bonnie, KC’s Ice Cream and Yogurt in Decatur, In, and Star Health and Fitness in Fort Wayne. Dan was a talented man. He was a pilot and built his own ultra-light plane. Dan played the organ and built a “Round House” for his wife, Bonnie. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Bonnie; children, Allen (Mary Gunther) Gage of Tavares, Fl, Doug (Susi) Gage of Knoxville, Tn, and Tina Heaston of Punta Gorda, FL; two bonus daughters, Shaw (Matt) Reinoehl of Fort Wayne, IN, and Shani (Troy) Unsicker of Hoagland, IN; 8 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his parents and son-in law, Shadd Heaston.
Dan’s family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Jessie and Amber of Eleos Hospice Care for their care and comfort of Dan. We would also like to say a special thanks, along with hugs and kisses to all of Dan’s caregivers in the Memory Care at Cedarhurst for their loving care of Dan. He loved you all. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Thursday, December 5, 2024, at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 16933 Thiele Rd, Fort Wayne with visitations one hour prior to service. Visitation is also 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at Harper’s Community Funeral Home, 740 State Road 930 E, New Haven, IN. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne with military honors.
