Dale G. Augenstein's Obituary
Dale G. Augenstein, 93, died Monday, December 30, 2013 at Parkview Hospital – Randallia, Fort Wayne. Born March 11, 1920 in Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late Walter and Florence Augenstein. Dale married his wife of 66 years, Edna, on June 20, 1941, who preceded him in death in 2008. He was a member of Martini Lutheran Church, New Haven. Dale retired in 1982 from International Harvester after 35 years.
Dale is survived by his children, Ron (Jan) Augenstein of Springfield, OH, Stan (Lani) Augenstein and Keith Augenstein both of Fort Wayne, and Jean (Hal) Howard of Charleston, SC; brother, Kenneth (Pat) Augenstein of New Haven; 16 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his sons, Steve and Robert Augenstein; and siblings, Marie Reinking and Don Augenstein.
Funeral service is 11 a.m. Friday at Martini Lutheran Church, 333 Moeller Rd., New Haven with calling one hour prior. Rev. Matt Kohl officiating. Calling is also 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven. Burial in the Concordia Cemetery Gardens, Fort Wayne. Preferred memorials are to Martini Lutheran Church, New Haven.
