Cynthia A Davis' Obituary
Cynthia A. Davis, 72, passed away Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Golden Years Homestead, Fort Wayne after a long illness of diabetes and kidney failure. Cindy was born in Crown Point on January 13, 1946 and was the daughter of the late Herman and Ila (Beneake) Fiegle. Cindy served as church secretary at various churches and most recently at Faith Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne before her retirement. Cindy was an active member of St. James Lutheran Church of New Haven and served on many committees. She especially enjoyed her “secret sisters’ group” and teaching Sunday school and confirmation classes. During the summer months Cindy was a volunteer teacher with the Lutheran Outdoor Ministries of Indiana and Kentucky reading camps and then helped with cookie walk fund raisers during the Christmas season. While living in Naperville, IL she worked as church secretary at Good Shepard Lutheran Church, taught Sunday school and English as a second language to several Taiwan families.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Robert M. Davis; brother, Brian (Jeanie) Fiegle of Bloomington; nieces, Stephanie Milliken of Bloomington, Leah Fiegle of Ellettsville, and Jennifer (Matt) Hert of Phoenix, AZ, and nephew, Nicholas Fiegle of Ellettsville.
Funeral services are 2:00 p.m., Tuesday at St. James Lutheran Church, 1720 State Road 930 East, New Haven with calling one hour prior to service. Pastor Martha Hampton officiating. Visitation is also 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Harper’s Community Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven. Private burial service at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville. Preferred memorials to LOMIK (Lutheran Outdoor Ministries of Indiana & Kentucky) or St. James Lutheran Bloomers.
