Christopher Edward Newport's Obituary
Christopher “Chris” Edward Newport, 44, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, September 10, 2016. Born in Fort Wayne, he attended St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne. A career welder, he was a daredevil at heart and has been known to build a vehicle from scratch. He was a lover of the outdoors and animals, and also enjoyed painting and drawing.
He is survived by his companion, Kelly Jo McGee of Fort Wayne; parents, Susan (Dale) Ehle and Kim (Elaine) Newport all of Fort Wayne; siblings, Leslie (Tate) Cook of Angola, Nicholas Ehle and Benjamin Ehle both of Fort Wayne, and Andrew (Aubrey) Ehle of Butler; step-siblings, Thomas (Kendall) Clark of Fort Wayne and Tammy (Scot) Davis of Alpharetta, GA; half-brother, Brentaan (Heather) Newport of Mt. Pleasant, MI; grandmother, Cathryn Childers of Fort Wayne; step grandmother, Marian Ehle of Fort Wayne; nieces and nephews, Ashley, Nathan, Braiden, Bryson, Cooper, Carter, Gracie, Ellie, Brittney, Jessica, and Lindsey. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jonathan Ehle in November 2015; and grandparents, Dale J. Ehle, James Childers, and Kenneth and Edna Newport.
Funeral service is 11 a.m., Friday at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 7710 E. State Blvd, Fort Wayne with calling one hour prior. Pastor David Schultz officiating. Calling is 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at E.
