Charles "Tom" Clements' Obituary
Charles T. “Tom” Clements, 76, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 31, 2018 at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne. Born in Huntington, he was the son of the late Charles G. and Mary (Kaylor) Clements. He was a member of the New Haven United Methodist Church, New Haven Lions Club, and American Legion Post 330, New Haven. Tom proudly served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War. He was a 30-year season ticket holder with the Komets Hockey Team, and was an avid sports fan of I.U., Notre Dame, and the Chicago Cubs. Many know Tom, as the “Voice of the Bulldog Baseball” for New Haven High School for over 30 years. He enjoyed working in the yard and solving world problems at the New Haven Bakery with his cohorts on Wednesday mornings. Most of all, he loved supporting his grandchildren in their sporting events.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Barbara; children, Michelle Cordray of New Haven and Brian (Ericka) Clements of Salt Lake City, UT; sister, Susan Wilson of Fairmount; grandchildren, Ella Cordray, Emily Cordray, and Konrad Clements. He was also preceded in death by his brothers-in-law, Jack Wilson and Leroy Hackworth.
Funeral service is 11 a.m. Friday at New Haven United Methodist Church, 630 Lincoln Hwy E., New Haven with calling one hour prior. Pastor Chuck Fenwick officiating. Visitations is also 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 Thursday at Harper’s Community Funeral Home, 740 State Road 930 East, New Haven. Burial with military honors in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, New Haven. Preferred memorials are to Bulldog Baseball.
