Charles "Charlie" Henry Brames' Obituary
Charles “Charlie” Henry Brames, 88, passed away on Monday, May 7, 2018. Born in Allen County, he was the son of the late Clement and Mary (Ternet) Brames. He was a member of St. John Fisher Roman Catholic Church, Fort Wayne. He served his country in the US Army. Charlie worked at New Haven Lumber for many years and went on to retire from International Harvester in 1984. He also loved gardening and farming.
He is survived by his children, Bryan (Connie Bowen) Brames of Santa Ana, CA, Susan (Larry) Warren and Carla (Dean) Alford both of Fort Wayne, Edward (Christine) Brames of Woodburn, and Norma (Rick) Spencer of Coppell, TX; sister, Louise (Tom) Sekel of Woodburn; sister-in-law, Joyce Brames of Pleasant Lake; seven grandchildren; two step granddaughters; one great grandson; and five step great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Esther in 2002; wife, Gertrude in 1959; son, Dennis Brames; brothers, Virgil, Jerry and Ivan Brames; and sisters, Sister Theresa Ann Brames and Rita Martin.
Prayers at 9:15 a.m. Friday at Harper’s Community Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven followed by a 10 a.m. Requiem Mass at St. John Fisher Roman Catholic Church, 3333 E. Tillman Rd., Fort Wayne. Father Christopher Darby officiating. Visitation is also 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with a rosary at 7 p.m. Burial in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, New Haven. Preferred memorials to Masses.
