Carolyn Brueggemann's Obituary
Carolyn Brueggemann, 90, of Fort Wayne, was called to her heavenly home on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne. She was surrounded by family, after a brief illness with pneumonia and pulmonary fibrosis. Born in Jackson Township on August 18, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Ora and Mildred (Miller) Moore and was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church. On February 8, 1958, she married Calvin "Cal" Brueggemann, who preceded her in death on February 20, 2010. Carolyn retired in 1992 from Lincoln National Life Insurance Company after 30 years. She enjoyed volunteering at the church serving on the alter guild and as a greeter throughout the years. She loved God, her family, and friends. She didn't know a stranger and loved to laugh and be with people. She loved a good game of cards (especially euchre), bowling, golfing, and IU basketball (really any college game). She was a great sideline coach while watching those games. She especially enjoyed attending her grandchildren's sporting events.
She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Lori (Jerry) Hoffman; daughter-in-law, Mary Brueggemann; granddaughters, Mary (Jamie) Donovan, Amy (Jarrod) Wehri and Raquel Brueggemann; great grandchildren, Beau, Cole, Lucas, and Savannah Wehri, Aleia Brueggemann, and Alexander James; bonus grandchildren, Dorit (Gary Galambos) Beck, Jerry (Emily) Hoffman II, Angie (Adam) Green, Julie (Jamon) McLaughlin, Lindsay (Mike) Simonetta Katie (Craige) Westover, Jill (Dan) Jordan, and Nick (Erika) Hoffman; and 19 bonus great grandchildren with #20 due on January 10, 2024. She is also preceded in death by her son, Larry; grandsons, Wade Wehri and Justin Brueggemann; and siblings, Marion, Ed, and Gene Moore; Loretta Dodane, Helen Spencer, and twin sister, Marolyn Rosswurm.
