Carole "Mom" J. Wood's Obituary
Carole "Mom" J. Wood, 72, of New Haven, died Thursday, March 29, 2012 at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, she was the daughter of the late George Levy and Shirley (Ray) Oakley. She attended Lifeway Wesleyan Church and volunteered with East Allen County Schools. She retired in 2004 from Fort Wayne Oncology and Hematology after 13 years of service. She was a loving mom, grandma, sister, aunt, friend, and band mom. She is survived by her children, Cheryal (Ed) Garren, Jeffrey (Cindy) Wood, and Patrick (Tina) Wood and all of New Haven; sister, Sue (Larry) Hammond of Auburn; grandchildren, Terra (Jeffery), Michael, Stephen (Michele), Cody, Justin, Kelsey, Megan, and Nick (Danielle); and great grandchildren, Dominic, Destiny, Timmy, Jerry and Christopher. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ron "Woody" in 2004; sister, Judy Ruiz of 2003; grandchildren, Todd Lee in 2005 and Shallon Lee in 1977. Funeral service is 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 St. Rd. 930 E., New Haven with calling one half hour prior. Pastor Rick Fletcher officiating. Calling is 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 2, 2012 at the funeral home. Burial is in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, New Haven. Preferred memorials are to American Heart Association, Diabetes Association, or to the family.
